Ivan Goddard

Goddard's Q&A

Name: Ivan Goddard

Place: Scotland (though I am not Scottish)

Why a pseudonym: Are you asking Ivan? Because he doesn't know he's a pseudonym.

Books. The book/author that most impacted you (1) as a child; (2) as a teenager; (3) in your 20s; (4) recently? (1) Roald Dahl; (2) Kurt Vonnegut; (3) John Irving, Walker Percy, and Milan Kundera; (4) Cormac McCarthy

Activities (besides writing): changing diapers and writing songs about changing diapers

The most rewarding thing you've ever done: If we’re talking about quantifiable reward, then probably selling all my NYSE stocks in late 2006 to help pay for my Ph.D.

Phobias: Fear

Top five films (order optional): Some Like it Hot, Murderball, Almost Famous, etc.

Top five least favorite films (order optional): The only movie I can think of having seen that I had a visceral reaction of rage towards was the abominable “Blow”. I generally don’t see enough movies to waste my time with bad ones.

Political Affiliation: Christi-anarchist in ideology, but harm-reducing pragmatist in practice.

The last time you broke a law (civic or biblical): Depending on when this is being read, it was likely a few hours ago, give or take a few hours.
